I'm excited to see an update to The Pragmatic Programmer has been released for its 20th anniversary. This book has had a big impact on my thought processes throughout my career. The principals I learned from it, such as DRY, abstraction, reuse, and organization, are still ingrained in the methods I use to design Minted's component library.
Lars loves all of the flowers popping up this Spring.
Tortoise performed TNT live at The Art Institute of Chicago’s Midwinter 2019. I know what I'll be listening to during work tomorrow.
This afternoon, while working on new type styles in the Minted Component Library, I turned on a live stream of Mexican Institute of Sound. Incredible sound coming from these guys. It's certainly boosting my productivity!
Back when I had a little more time, I liked to create multi-colored linocuts. I really loved carving for days, not being able to see the results until the first print. Some day I'd like to get back into that, but in the meantime I've tried to recreate the same technique digitally. It's not quite as therapeutic, but it is fun drawing in reverse. I've been experimenting with how to achieve the look using Lars' favorite cartoons as the subject matter. This one is Wanda and the Alien.
Hey Spotify, thanks for putting Serenade To A Poodle in my Discover Weekly playlist. I have no idea what I've been listening to that made you think I'd like that, but it put a smile on my face.
